About Me

My television career has been wonderfully varied and fascinating.

I have flown across the English Channel in a hot air balloon with Michaela Strachan, kissed the Blarney Stone with Timmy Mallet and exploded science experiments with Bez. I have conducted one on one interviews with many prominent people over the years including Peter Kay, Maureen Lipman, David Furnish, Abi Titmus, Bill Oddie, Matt Lucas, Ice-T, Jimmy Osmond, Larry Hagman, Nicolas Roeg CBE, Michael Parkinson CBE and Gordon Ramsay.

After graduating from Manchester Metropolitan University in 1989 with a degree in Film and Television Production my career in ‘telly’ started at a small Indie called Clear Idea Television. Taken on as a Trainee Researcher and Location Director I worked on the children’s programmes Wac 90, Top Banana, Wacaday and the music show The Hitman and Her.

After a gap year travelling the world, I spent a year in Australia where I worked on a kids science show called Hot Science on Channel 9. For the next six years I honed my skills as a Location Director and Assistant Producer back in the UK working within a variety of genres: studio entertainment, live OB’s, observational docs, daytime and music programming for a variety of networks.

At Sky, I worked on a music show The Hit Mix with Mark Freeland (currently Head of In-House Comedy, BBC) and the presenters Terry Christian, Jason Bradbury and Gail Porter. My first job at the BBC was on The Sunday Show with the then little known Peter Kay. My job was to produce the strand, Bez’s Super Science. It was at BBC North that I had the opportunity to produce an entire programme, When Shoulderpads Ruled the World, under the watchful eye of the I Love … series creator Alan Brown. At MTV I was the Series Producer of a live daily video request show, MTV Select with Richard Blackwood, Lisa Snowdon and Russell Brand.

For the last thirteen years, I have been producing factual entertainment programmes. The highlights have been: The Joy of Curry BBC2, Stars Behind Bars CH5, Peter Kay: Raider of the Pop Charts CH4, Britain In Bed BBC3 and the award-winning The Return of ‘Allo 'Allo! BBC2.

I have also done a considerable amount of Edit Producing which I enjoy. The highlights have been: Life After the Square BBC2, TV's Most Outrageous Moments CH5, Reel History with Melvyn Bragg BBC2 and most recently Turbo Boost CBBC.
